The Sampaloc Site II Elementary School
adheres to the goal – exemplifying integrity and excellence among its pupils,
teachers and non-teaching personnel and strengthen stakeholders’ commitment for
the betterment of the school. This Annual Report was prepared in accordance
with the given format so as to give comprehensive and accurate report that will
provide a true picture on the direction of the school and in order to
facilitate proper overview and accountability with regard to funds and efforts
extended by different stakeholders.
A collaborative effort on the preparation and
gathering of the documents, pictures, BEIS data, test results, inventory of
textbooks and report cards spearheaded by the principal with its focus on
highlights on basic education services and yearlong accomplishments that substantiates the contributions of each
individual in the school.
SOCIO – ECONOMIC, CULTURAL AND DEMOGRAPHIC BACKGROUND
Socio – Economic
Residents of
the community in Sampaloc Site are mostly working as employees, construction
workers, pedicab drivers, caretakers of Manila Memorial Park and street
vendors.
The main street of Sampaloc Site II has been covered with
market stalls and Sari – Sari Stores. The operations of these business
structures somehow help improve the economic condition of the residents.
Socio-Cultural
The community
where the school is located has the same beliefs and traditions as with the
other communities in the City of Parañaque. A feast in honor of Our Mother of
Perpetual Help is celebrated every third Sunday of May.
Demographic
The school is
in a community of about 18, 000 residents. 24% of the population belongs to 0 –
12 years of age; 18% from 13 – 20 years old; 43% from 21 – 50 years old; and
15% from 51 and above years of age. However, 96% of pupils enrolled in the
school are residents of Sampaloc Site II and only 4% come from neighboring
barangays. About 7,000 residents comprise the voting populace of the community.
Political
The school has
been in operation for almost 27 years. It was built under the leadership of the
late Mayor Walfredo N. Ferrer and the succeeding mayors after him have been
good providers of the school’s needs.
Hon. Roilo S.
Golez, former Congressman of the second district of Parañaque was able to
construct a Golezeum in front of the school building. The said Golezeum is used
as venue for the different programs and activities of both the school and the
community.
The present
Mayor, Hon. Edwin L. Olivarez has also been working for the improvement of the
school and the community as well. The community is likewise supported by its
incumbent Barangay Captain Hon. Paolo Marquez.
Geographical
Located in Guyabano Street, Sampaloc Site II, Barangay BF,
Sucat, Parañaque City, SSIIES occupies a land area of 924 square meters. The
landmarks near the school are Manila Memorial Park, SM BF, NISSAN Motors and BF
Homes Subdivision.
