Reading instruction does not need to stop so even amidst pandemic, Project THOR still needs to speed up its implementation to continue the progress and assess the reading comprehension of pupils which is very vital in learning. The transition of F2F wherein one-on-one tutoring is applied resorted to reading online which adapted online reading class, sending reading videos, phone calls and providing hard copies of conceptualize materials to the struggling readers who needs it the most.
Sampaloc Site II Elementary successfully piloted the online reading class through the effort of the School Reading Coordinator Ma’am Venus A. Panginaco and Alternate Reading Coordinator Sir Arcadio M. Tocino alongside all the advisers to assess learner’s reading ability from Kinder to Grade Six. About 30% of the total enrolment had joined and the rest rely on the reading videos sent through FB Messenger and phone calls for those struggling in WIFI connectivity. (by Marlene T. Ibita)
