COVID19 has become a global health crisis. Almost 36 million people have been infected and one million have died. To curb the spread of COVID 19, our government has opted to employ quarantine protocols and temporarily affected our educational system. To respond to the battle cry of the Department of Education’s “Sulong Edukalidad”, proactive policies for the continuance of education were implemented. These policies include the implementation of modified forms of teaching-learning modalities such as Modular Distance Learning, Online Learning, Blended Learning, Radio-Based Instruction and Television- Based Instruction. Meanwhile, Sampaloc Site II Elementary School has responded to that calling and adopted modular Distance Learning as their teaching modality amidst many assumptions raised as to the possibilities of challenges and difficulties in the adoption of such learning modality. Notwithstanding the various stresses it brings, the outbreak of COVID 19 not only forced us to think and embrace technologies for delivering education, it also compelled us to rethink the very nature of education itself.
